City Director Joins Mass Sleepout to End Homelessness for Good

In just over a month from now City Director, Gavin Kennedy, will be joining Sir Bob Geldof, participants from Hibernian and Heart of Midlothian FC and thousands of others in the World’s largest ever mass sleepout in Princes Street Gardens. The event is the brainchild of Social Bite co-founder Josh Littlejohn who believes that by raising funds and working together, we can get to the root issues with a plan to eradicate homelessness over a 5 year period by providing people with housing, rehabilitation, job opportunities and the support they need to get back on their feet.

Gavin said “In my day job with Stirling Council managing the delivery of affordable housing I know only too well the impact that homelessness has on individuals and their families. Over the last five years participating in the Stirling Homelessness Partnership I’ve seen first hand the fantastic work that is done by variety of organisations to deal with the impact of homelessness and sleeping out in the freezing cold for one night is a very small price to pay in order to raise funds for what is a very worthwhile cause”.
