El Alagui Signs for City
Edinburgh City are delighted to announce that former Falkirk, Brentford and Hibernian striker Farid El Alagui has joined the Club on a deal until the end of the season. The 32 year-old forward featured as a trialist in last Saturday’s narrow defeat to league leaders Stirling Albion and a starring performance saw City manager James McDonaugh act quickly to bring in a player he knows well.
El Alagui said “I am delighted to join the Club. I was given the opportunity to train with the team over the Summer and when the new manager came in he gave me the chance to play. I’ve known James since my time at Hibernian and I know that he did great work there. He was successful at Falkirk too and it was always hard to play against them. I am looking forward to working under him and have enjoyed being around the team. They are a great bunch of players and I can’t wait to be part of the journey to take this club forward”.
McDonaugh commented “Farid is a player who I met while at Hibernian but who first caught my eye scoring so many goals for Falkirk. I think he will be a great addition to the squad with his experience and quality”.
