This evening we make the trip north to face League 1 leaders Arbroath in the Irn-Bru Challenge Cup.
OPPONENTS: ARBROATH
Dick Campbell’s side currently sit top of League 1, being undefeated in their nine matches to date. In the Irn-Bru Cup, they have put two of our fellow League 2 sides to the sword, seeing off Elgin City on penalties then comprehensively beating Annan 3-0 in the last round. Well-known faces in their line-up include skipper Jason Thomson formerly of Hearts and Raith Rovers and top scorer Bobby Lin, who has eight goals so far this term and can count Dundee, Morton, Peterhead and East Fife among his previous sides.

TEAM NEWS
Once again City are fortunate to have picked up no fresh injuries or suspensions from last week’s match with Berwick Rangers, so the squad will be largely unchanged. The injured trio of Josh Walker, John Dunn and Brad Donaldson remain out of contention, although each of them are stepping up their rehab.
PREVIOUS MEETINGS
Although we are currently separated by a division, in our debut season in the SPFL we played Arbroath four times, winning twice, with a draw and defeat in the other matches. The most recent meeting was at Gayfield Park on 15 April 2017 and finished 1-0 to City, with Ryan Porteous scoring an injury-time winner!
