Livingston | BetFred Cup | Tue 6 October | Match Preview

Competitive football returns to Ainslie Park as Premiership side Livingston visit in Match day 1 of this season’s BetFred Cup.

LIVE STREAM

As we all know, spectators remain unable to attend matches in Scotland, so we are delighted to confirm that this game will see the launch of our new streaming service ECFC TV! You can click here to purchase the LIVE stream for only £9.99 and see details of our forthcoming streams that can be pre-ordered. ECFC TV has a useful FAQ guide to how the new service will operate and the stream will feature commentary from the voice of Edinburgh City Graham Nisbet. We are excited about this new feature and hope fans of both teams will be able to enjoy the match.

OPPONENTS: LIVINGSTON

Our opponents come into the match sitting in 6th place in the Premiership having played ten matches to this point. Gary Holt’s men have hit form in their last two outings, seeing off St Johnstone 2-0 at the Toni Macaroni Stadium on 26 September and then claiming all three points at Tannadice last Friday with a 2-1 win over Dundee United.

KITS

We will be wearing our home kit of white shirts, black shorts and socks while the visitors will be in all amber.

BEHIND CLOSED DOORS

Sadly due to Coronavirus restrictions, no spectators are permitted in the ground and we would ask all our supporters to respect this. As detailed above, supporters of both sides can purchase the match via LIVE stream from www.ecfctv.com

TEAM NEWS

We are essentially at full strength for this match, with all our new signings – Josh Campbell, Ouzy See, Danny Jardine and Lee Hamilton set to feature.

PREVIOUS FIXTURES

Since winning promotion to the SPFL this will be only our second match against Livingston; the first was also in the League cup on 20th July 2016 and was in fact our first competitive match as an SPFL club. Despite a strong effort, City went down 3-0 that night and ironically of the squad from that day saw Ouzy See play the last half hour and he is the only player still at the club – albeit having been on his travels over the last couple of years.
