Danny Jardine Signs Extended Contract

Hot on the heels of securing an extension to Ouzy See’s contract, Danny Jardine has also agreed to extend his deal with the club through to the end of season 2021/22.

Having signed from Stirling Albion in Summer 2020 the midfielder has developed his game becoming a regular starter since football restarted in March. A string of excellent performances have been recognised by manager Gary Naysmith, who had this to say to ECFCTV on Danny’s new deal:

“When I first joined the club and looked at the current group of players, Danny was one of the least familiar names known to me. However I told the players that everyone would get a fresh start and I think there is no better example of that than Danny. Since he came on as a sub at Albion Rovers, he has hardly been out the team and thoroughly deserves his new deal due to his consistent performances. Danny had offers from other clubs for next season so I am delighted that he has chosen to turn those opportunities down and extend his stay at Edinburgh City and he is someone that I am looking forward to working with to try and help him improve as a player.”

With the ink dry on his new deal, Danny had this to say:

“I’m delighted to sign for Edinburgh City again for another season. I’m really enjoying my football right now and am pleased that the manager has shown faith in me. I’m very excited for the future.”

Great news Danny!
