Robbie McIntyre Signs New Deal

Popular left back Robbie McIntyre has signed a new  extension to his contact, committing him to the club until June 2023.

A fans’ favourite, Robbie has been one of the most consistent performers since joining from East of Scotland side Tynecastle in 2018.

Formerly on the books of Rangers and Huddersfield, manager Gary Naysmith had this to say to ECFCTV on the news of Robbie’s new contract:

“Although he was already under contact for next season, I am delighted that Robbie has chosen to extend his contract by another year until the end of season 2022/23. He has shown in my 11 games in charge how versatile a player he can be for the team and regardless of which position he is asked to play, he produces good consistent performances.

At 27, Robbie’s best years are still in front of him. He has good technical ability and he is also a proper athlete. On top of that, he is also a good character to have around the club. I am delighted that we have been able to get him to commit his future to Edinburgh City for the next two seasons as there is no doubt in my mind that Robbie has all the ingredients to play at a higher level.”

With the ink dry, Robbie commented to ECFCTV:

“I’m delighted to sign an extension with City, it’s a great club with great people and I’m excited to hopefully help the club climb the leagues in the years to come.”

Delighted with the news Robbie!
