Blair Henderson Leaves Edinburgh City
We can confirm that striker Blair Henderson has had his contract with the Club cancelled by mutual consent.
Blair joined City in the summer of 2018 and in had a terrific first season scoring 39 goals in only 47 games in all competitions. This led to wider recognition, including winning SPFL League 2 player of the season and Tartan Boot awards. The last two seasons have been more challenging for the 6’4” frontman due to injuries, however he still managed a return of 19 goals from 44 appearances and everyone at the Club wishes Blair well in the next stage of his career; he will always be a welcome visitor in the future.
Announcing his departure, Blair had this to say to ECFC TV:
“I had a great time at Edinburgh City and won awards that I will keep forever. Scoring 54 goals in 68 starts is a great achievement and I couldn’t have done it without the other players and staff at the club. The fans were also great with me and that pushed me on even more. However, sometimes when new management comes in, plans and methods change and I had to go somewhere I felt part of the plans going forward. I wish the club nothing but success.”
Thanks for the memories Blair and good luck!
