Following our great win over Clyde we have another massive game to look forward to against Peterhead this weekend.
Jim McInally’s side are without doubt favourites for this season’s League 2 title, having narrowly missed out last season on both automatic promotion and the playoffs. This season the Blue Toon look strong again, with three wins and a draw from their opening four league matches and talisman Rory McCallister once again on form. Peterhead will be without Mick Dunlop and Peter Boyle once again this weekend but are otherwise at full strength.
Admission prices at Balmoor Stadium are £12 for adults, £6 for concessions with under 12s free with an accompanying adult; a cash gate will be in operation.
City continue to be without the midfield duo of Josh Walker and John Dunn tomorrow, with skipper Josh due to have his knee operation this week. Brad Donaldson requires a scan on his Achilles so he too misses out, although Marc Laird is back to full fitness and will be in the squad for tomorrow’s trip North. Otherwise we have a full bill of health and will hope to put in another big performance tomorrow after last week’s battle with Clyde.
Last season Peterhead dominated the first two meetings home and away, recording comfortable 3-0 wins on both occaisions. City were much more competetive in the home match in February, holding out for a 0-0 draw, before narrowly going down 2-1 on the final day of the season, where the Blue Toon came so close to the league title.
Unusually for us, both teams this season have started strongly, so we are hoping for a close match tomorrow up at Balmoor.
