Tomorrow we host Championship side Alloa Athletic in the Irn-Bru Cup Quarter Final at Ainslie Park.

Jim Goodwin’s men will arrive in the Capital as overwhelming favourites for the tie. The Wasps currently sit in eight place in the Championship table, where they find themselves as the only part time club in the division. There is a great mix of youth and experience in their ranks, with on-loan Hearts forward Dario Zanetta and Alan Trouten in great form this season. City old-boy Zack Karadachki is on their books and may be in the squad tomorrow.

City will wear their home colours with black shorts and white socks, Alloa are scheduled to wear their home kit too.

Admission prices for tomorrow’s match will be £12 for adults, £6 concessions; as always a cash gate will be open at Ainslie Park.

Our injury list is as it was, with Josh Walker, John Dunn, Danny Handling and Keiron Stewart all sidelined. The only other man to miss out tomorrow is Adam Watson, who is cup-tied.

Tomorrow’s match is kindly sponsored by John Pryde & Co., Criminal Defence Solicitors with expertise in all of areas Scots Law, committed to representing their clients interests and providing the best defence possible to those who have been accused or charged with a crime.

Although the sides have not met since our return to senior football, in the 1930s the teams met 16 times, with the Wasps holding the advantage by winning 13 of the games. Indeed the biggest margin of victory was 8-2 in seaosn 1936/37. If we are looking for omens however, the last meeting finished 3-1 in City’s favour in season 1938/39, a repeat of thst scoreline tomorrow would do nicely!
