This weekend we take a trip south to take on Annan Athletic.
OPPONENTS: ANNAN ATHLETIC
Annan are under the management of Peter Murphy and have enjoyed a good level of consistency over the last 12 months or so. The Galabank outfit currently sit fourth in the table, with seven wins from their fifteen league games to this point. It should be noted that their home form has been good and are currently undefeated on their home ground so far this season. A major highlight of their campaign to this point was a 6-1 hammering of league leaders Cove Rangers two weeks ago.
Admission prices at Galabank are £12 for adults, £6 for concessions with under 12s free with an accompanying adult; a cash gate will be in operation. Annan have produced a useful guide for visiting fans which can be found here.
From an injury point of view, long-term absentee Andy Black is out of contention and he joins shoter term casualties Calum Antel and Robbie McIntyre on the treatment table. Aidan McAdams will require a fitness test but otherwise the squad will be as per last week’s match with Cove Rangers.
Annan will be wearing their home colours of gold shirts, black shorts and gold shorts. We will be wearing our Heritage kit with black shorts and socks.
Games with Annan have generally been extremely tight affairs over the last couple of seasons, with the winning marging being the odd goal in three in half of the meetings between us since last year. Recntly both teams scored decisive home victories, with Annan winning 3-1 in last season’s run-in, while City crushed the Galabankies 4-0 in September. On November 23, our Scottish Cup tie ended 4-3 to City in what was a very, very tough match. Tomorrow is sure to be another close match and a critical one as the league title race begins to take shape.
