Antell Signs on Again

Popular goalkeeper Calum Antell has signed a new contract through to June 2021.

The Welshman had a difficult season with injury however is raring to go having put pen to paper, extending his City adventure for another year. Initially arriving in 2016, Calum was the club’s number one for the 2017/18 and 2018/19 seasons but was limited to only a handful of starts last term, due to a niggling injury.

On the announcement of his new contract, Calum commented “Delighted to extend my contract with Edinburgh City for another year which takes me into my fifth season with the club. To play in the clubs first ever game in the football league at meadowbank against Forfar four years ago to now challenging for the league year in year out just shows how far the club has grown over the years which is a credit to everyone associated with the club. Hopefully when the season starts back up we can all pull together and go one step further and take the club to the next level.”

Manager James McDonaugh commented on securing Calum’s services for anther season “Calum had a difficult season last season due to injury but I’m delighted that he will be back next season and hopefully re establish himself as first choice, returning to his form of 18-19 where he kept 17 clean sheets in league 2. ”
