Edinburgh City Announce Jordan Tapping Loan Deal
Manager Gary Naysmith has bolstered his squad for the run-in to the end of the season by securing the loan signing of Jordan Tapping, from top Lowland League side East Stirlingshire.
The 24 year old defender, younger brother of Stenhousemuir’s Callum Tapping who we faced last week, has league experience, having played previously for Brechin City, before joining East Stirlingshire.
The boss commented:
“After speaking with Scott after last nights game, and then speaking with the staff and assessing the squad depth overall, We felt that we were still a little light in terms of central defenders, especially with the news that Conrad is now going to be out a little longer than we had hoped. Therefore, I am delighted that Jordan has agreed to join us at such short notice. He has good experience of playing league football and was keen to make the move happen when he found out about our interest. At the moment he will be a little bit behind the rest of our squad in terms of fitness as he has been training on his own for the last few months, but hopefully in the next week or two, we can work on improving his overall fitness and he can then become an important part of the squad. I’d also like to thank East Stirling for all their help in making the deal happen at such short notice.”
Jordan was also delighted to get the deal done:
“I’m looking forward to getting started and back involved in a football environment. When the Lowland League came to an end and I heard there was interest from Edinburgh City I couldn’t turn it down as I’ve always heard good things about the club. It’s a great chance for me to try and prove myself in the League above and see where I can progress.”
Brilliant to have you on board Jordan!
That’s almost all our announcement for today, but there might be room for one more…
