Welcome Scott Reekie

We are delighted to announce another new signing, this time it’s former Brechin City defender Scott Reekie who has put pen to paper with the Club.

A commanding centre half, Scott began his career with Dundee United in his native City where he made his senior debut, before joining Falkirk on a short term deal in January 2019. At the end of that season he made the move to Glebe Park, where he gained valuable experience despite the challenges Brechin were experiencing.

Manager Gary Naysmith spoke to ECFC TV about adding another defender to his squad:

“Scott joined Dundee United straight from school and spent two years there as a young full time professional before moving to Falkirk. In the last few seasons, he has played around 50 games for Brechin so he has good experience of league two football. Similar to Michael Mcfarlane, we asked Scott to come in and do pre season training with us so that we could have a closer look at him. This is something that he was happy to do and it has paid off for both parties. Scott is a young athletic defender who is comfortable on the ball and who can play anywhere across the back four. This is something we have already seen in our two pre season friendlies and his versatility will be important for us next season”

The new man had this message for the City fans on his arrival in the Capital:

“I’m delighted to have joined Edinburgh City. I’ve really enjoyed my time during pre-season, so it was great to be offered a contract. I’m now looking forward to the start of the season to help the club challenge for the League 2 title.”

Great to have you on board Scott!
