Although born in Edinburgh central midfielder Marc had never played for a Scottish club before joining City on 20 September 2016.  He made his debut at Annan four days later with a man-of-the-match performance, and the box-to-box midfielder has been a regular in the side since then – setting up dozens of goals for other players, although rarely netting himself.

Marc joined the Manchester City academy set-up while still in his mid-teens, and signed professional forms on his 18^th birthday.  Although he made a number of appearances on the bench for the first team he did not play in a competitive match, and after loan spells with Northampton Town and Port Vale he moved to Millwall in January 2008, making 75 appearances in the Championship over a three-year spell.  In 2011 he crossed the river to sign for Leyton Orient, and in 2013 joined Southend United where his appearances were limited by injuries.  Following seasons with Tranmere Rovers and Yeovil Town, Marc returned to Edinburgh in 2016.
